Studio Policies

  • The studio calendar year runs from September – June.
  • All communication is sent via email; please keep a current email address on file in the office!
  • The school year will consist of 34 weeks of classes held over a ten-month period.
  • A student may join at any time from September through January if there is space available.
  • The studio will be closed for major holidays and school vacations – see our monthly calendar.
  • Referral Program: It’s easy, when you refer a new student and they register into a class, you get a $20 credit on your account.
  • $30 registration fee per family is due September 1st. Registration fees are non-refundable.
  • You can pay tuition in full by September 1st or break tuition payments down into 9 monthly installments.
  • Tuition installments are due on the 1st of each month. Tuition is non-refundable.
  • Dance Expressions operates 6 days a week. There are dance lessons from 3:30-10pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and 9am-3pm on Saturdays.
  • Office hours are 4:30-9pm Monday through Thursday and 10am-2pm on Saturdays. We are closed on Sundays.
  • Credit will not be given for missed classes due to illness or personal commitments.

  • Dance Expressions by Erica reserves the right to cancel any class with insufficient registration and a full refund will be given.
  • The performance fee to be in our annual showcases is $60. With this performance fee, you receive 4 free tickets and 1 wristband. The wristband allows access to the dressing areas and the showcase. This performance fee is due May 1st. Performance fees are non-refundable.
  • Each routine will have a $40 costume deposit. Costume deposits are due October 1st. The balance of each costume is due December 1st. Showcase costumes range in price from $65-$85. Parent/guardian must sign off on the dancer’s costume size based on measurements. If costumes need to be exchanged for a different size, there is a $10 shipping/restocking fee. Every dancer participating in the annual showcase must purchase costume(s). Any payments made for costumes are non-refundable.
  • Our annual photo shoot is held in February each year. There is a $15 photo fee for each costume. This fee includes sitting fee and group recognition in the annual program book. For groups, each dancer will get 2 headshots and 5 action shots. For duets/trios, each dancer will get 4 headshots and 15 action shots. For solos, each dancer will get 6 head shots and 25 action shots. Solos, duets and trios must place their own photos in the annual program book. The annual photo shoot is optional for our recreational dancers. You must opt out by December 1st. Any fees paid for the photo shoot are non-refundable.
  • Private lessons are available upon request. Private lessons are $30 for 30 minutes. Semi private lessons are $20 for 30 minutes. Private lessons are pay-as-you-go.
  • If tuition, costume deposits, costume balances, photo fees, performance fees or private lessons are not paid by the due date, a $10 late fee will be applied weekly until account is paid to date. We allow a 7-day grace period for all account activity. If your account is over two installments unpaid or your account balance reaches over $300, your child will not be permitted into classes.
  • If a check is returned, a non-sufficient funds fee of $25 will be applied to your account. If this happens three times in one season, we will only accept cash or money order for the remainder of the season.
  • You WILL NOT be receiving a statement from our office for your monthly tuition.  You may check your account online at any time.
  • If at any time you would like a printed statement of your account you may request one.
  • Overdue Balances Only: A statement will be mailed and/or emailed for amount due with late charges assessed.
  • You may log into your account anytime by visiting danceexpressionsbyerica.com and clicking “Your Account”.
  • We accept cash, check or Paypal for tuition and private lessons.
  • All extras including, but not limited to; costumes, photo fees, program book, dancewear. must be paid by check or cash only.
  • The studio will be closed one week in November for Thanksgiving break, two weeks in December for Winter Break, one week in March or April for Spring Break and on Memorial Day.
  • We expect all DEBE dancers to be in their classes weekly. Tardiness is unacceptable. If your child is ill, we ask that they stay home to not spread germs. In the instance your child will not be in attendance, please call Dance Expressions and leave a message on the machine (724)864-5678 or email info@danceexpressionsbyerica.com.  If your child is absent several weeks throughout the season, their teacher may request a private lesson to get them caught up.
  • Please check your email, our Facebook page www.facebook.com/danceexpressionsbyerica and/or our website www.danceexpressionsbyerica.com in the case of cancelation due to inclement weather. Dance Expressions usually follows the decision of Norwin School District.
  • If there are cancelations throughout the season due to inclement weather, those classes will be made up over Spring Break or week following the June showcase.
  • If your child is seriously injured (broken bone, ligament tears or concussion), you may opt out of the remainder of the season or choose to continue and perform in the showcase. If you choose to opt out, any tuition payments made until the time of injury will not be refunded. If you choose to continue, you must attend each class and tuition will remain the same.
  • The  schedule and faculty is subject to change.
  • All studio news and announcements will be sent via email.
  • There is a $50 studio withdrawl fee if you choose to not complete the season. There is no fee to withdrawl from the studio before November 1st.
