COVID-19 CLAUSE

Dance Expressions by Erica is a Safer Studio!

We have taken precautions to maintain high standards at DEBE during the current health pandemic.

YOUR DANCER’S SAFETY IS OUR TOP PRIORITY!

Here are some of the precautions we are taking:

  • Parents must drop off and pick up children to limit the number of people inside the building.

  • If your child is under 6 years old, one parent may accompany them into the studio and wait in the lobby.

  • All necessary items such as dance shoes carried in a small bag with dancer at all times.

  • If a dancer has consecutive classes, they may use the cubbies provided. These cubbies will be cleaned each night.

  • We will be "dis-dancing" in the classrooms: dancers will learn to by "six-feet-safe" in their dance classes. The floor is marked to show dancers where to stand.

  • “Parking Spots” for dance bags & shoe changes are also “Six-Feet-Safe”.

  • Teachers will assign each dancer their “Parking Spot” & “Dancing Spot”.

  • We will continue to encourage social dis-dancing upon entering & exiting the building.

  • We will always have a staff member at the front door to ensure our children are kept within the studios during their class times. We will also be implementing a check in/out procedure.

  • Smaller class sizes.

  • Barres and other equipment will be wiped down between classes if used.

  • Restrooms will be sanitized after each use. For those students coming in for just

one class, please encourage your dancer to use the restroom at home before coming to DEBE.

  • Dancers must bring their own water bottle as our water fountain is off limits, along with any eating in our kitchen area.

  • Class times may be modified for transition times and to limit the number of people in the building.

  • “Pick-up” your dancer at the front entrance. Please make a sign with your dancer’s name to

    expedite pick-ups.

WHO SHOULD NOT COME TO CLASS:

  • Any dancer feeling ill should stay home. (Fever, coughing, sneezing, runny nose, etc.)

  • Any dancer that has traveled to a hot spot should quarantine for 10 days or be tested for Covid-19.

  • Any dancer that has tested positive for Covid-19 must quarantine for 14 days before return.

  • Any dancer living with a family member who is ill should stay home.

  • Anyone who feels they cannot comply with all procedures should also stay home.

We will sanitize and disinfect before the start of each dance day. We will continue to urge our dancers to use the hand sanitizer provided by the studio. Please feel free to bring your own. Hand washing is mandatory after restroom usage & will be encouraged when necessary. Faculty will wear masks unless intensely demonstrating. Masks are optional for dancers, as suggested by the CDC in it's recommendations on workouts for young children.

If the studio is shutdown by the direction of the PA Health department, I fully understand that the class schedule will continue over Zoom or another online classroom platform.

Thank you for your support!

With love,
Miss Erica & team

Hello DEBE Family,

What a whirlwind the last week has been for families, schools, community leaders and local businesses. As the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve on a daily basis, we wanted to take the opportunity to provide clarity and share some exciting updates.

But first and foremost, we want to thank everyone who has reached out by way of email, text, direct messages and calls to offer support. Your partnership at this time, more than ever, is so appreciated. As you know, DEBE is on an unplanned spring break this week and every one of the More Than Just Great Dancing® Affiliated Dance Studios around the world are now closed.  It has been a sad time for us all. To keep spirits up this past week, the DEBE faculty pre-recorded videos for our dancers of all ages to enjoy over the weekend. We hope our Virtual Weekend Workshop is keeping them busy! If you haven't signed in - Click Here! and type in the password: debestrong.  We also want to invite you to join our Facebook page - DEBE dance family

As we've heard many times-we are all in uncharted waters, which is requiring a level of flexibility and adaptation like never before. Many of you are now homeschooling your children and balancing working from home - We have a new-found appreciation to those who have done it all the way along!

After time to process and pray, we are at peace (and even excited!) about the plan we are developing to move forward with our season!

Our "DEBE Strong" Campaign

At this time, this campaign can go in many different directions. We do have a plan in place for each possibility. We are in constant contact with venues, vendors, teachers, health professionals and community leaders to make certain we are doing all we can for our loyal customers. We do think it is in the best interest of our students and faculty to continue to take it one week at a time and not pile on unnecessary information.

With the announcement from Governor Wolf two days ago that ordered all non-life-sustaining businesses to shut down, we have decided to take our final week of March classes online! Classes will be held over Zoom. This application allows for our teachers and students to be interactive and LIVE! We will hold 2-3 rooms each day for our regular classes. Our virtual learning schedule is attached. A log in ID and clear instructions will be sent to each class each day. We want to make sure we provide you this service of dance classes this week as we are unsure of what's to come...

As you can imagine, DEBE relies on enrollment and tuition in order to honor all of its commitments to staff and teachers, employee benefits and other community small businesses. We are committed to fulfilling our promises to your dancers and to our employees as well.

This past week, our teachers were working very hard on dance choreography and preparing resources for your time at home. Tomorrow, we are going to jump right back into instruction with DEBE Digital!

DEBE Digital - Virtual Dance Studio

Our new virtual learning platform will offer a variety of recorded and live stream classes PLUS a ton of amazing bonus material to keep kids happy, healthy and safe while we wait for things to bounce back in our community.

Many dance studios in the MTJGD organization have already started virtual classes this week and the users are RAVING! Parents have been grateful for the break in the monotony of being isolated at home and the kids have been thrilled to see their teachers again. Kids NEED normalcy and access to the things that bring them JOY and PASSION now more than ever. They need to be active, engage their minds and connect with their classmates and teammates. We are committed to making that possible!

We will operate our virtual classrooms until we are given permission by Governor Wolf to open our doors and hold classes in-person again!

Thank you for your support!

With love,
Miss Erica & team
